Not every coach can follow in the footpath of Phil Jackson. Most coaches that make the ranks of the NBA won’t even get the chance to take their side to a Finals appearance, let alone win a championship. The rings are only given to the elite few who conquer the lot and over the years there have been many terrific operators that got close, but never the whole way.
