Early in the NBA’s history teams would commonly run off large portions of game time without taking a shot, something modern basketball fans couldn’t possibly stand. The shot clock changed the game forever and eventually made it into what it is today.
For the most part, professional basketball games are high scoring affairs with as many points as we can possibly hope for. Still, there are times when neither team can get into a rhythm offensively and the final score resembles a high school game more than an NBA one.
